I've read a few modern-with-memories fics where relationships replicate canon era, but I want a twist!

Cast remembers, but they do it at a more mature age, like post mid-20s. They find that most are not related, are in relationships with very different people, and are content (or not) in contrast to earlier era because they made very different choices. JL had every family member die on him, therefore even though the whole cultivation world knows he and LSZ are exclusive, he is not going to doom LSZ to death by making him officially related.
LSZ at the end of MDZS finds out that every sect of any importance took part in the project to massacre his family. Hence he chooses to be a rogue cultivator, following HGZ's example of being where the trouble is. And with the observation decks gone under Chief Cultivator NHS' orders, trouble is aplenty.

QHJ's obsession with Madam Lan had affected LQR very much, so in canon he tried hard all his life to keep the Lan brothers from following their parents.
For me, younger brother LQR never marrying even if it would be good if he had someone to support him, after suddenly being made de-facto Leader and father to the young LXC and LWJ, is because he had become traumatised by QHJ's treatment of Madam Lan. The acts by QHJ - controlling confinement visitors to very few, probably non-consensual intercourse and pregnancy, giving no details about who ML was before she was ML - LQR remembered those with horror. He feared that one day, Lan Jades may also perpetuate that abuse on their unwilling partner.

In this Novel canon divergent AU, LXC returns (it could be reborn or time-travel post GT LXC too) with MY (it could be ABO or fem!MY too) to re-build burned down CR.
LQR sees MY - small, thin, orphan, looks a early teen compared to adult LXC. Sees the red-purple hickeys peeking out from collars, sees how LXC (wary of someone connecting this boy to the bastard JGS kicked down Koi Tower and insulting his mom) strictly controls who can look at or come in contact with MY. He sees QHJ's shadow in LXC!

LXC notices LQR's monopolising of MY and gets worried. Does LQR disapprove and want to separate them? Will he force MY into the Gentian House? Does LQR himself like MY because he is so obedient and smart?!
LQR and MY are worried because they tried to hide their new relationship - has this boomeranged on them?

Endgame: LQR and Xiyao have a heart-to-heart talk about Lan parents, they reconcile with gratitude towards each other.

For whatever reason the author chooses, when Nie Mingjue remembers his past life, he goes completely overboard in finding his lost loved ones and ensuring their safety. His intentions are good but until everyone else remembers, he does come across as a wee bit looney.

A pseudo-history fic OR water-mirror fic OR LXC's reminiscing on his personal appraisal of JGY, etc. Where future generations admire JGY for his amazing accomplishments at such a young age.

JC is praised for taking over Jiang Sect and fighting Sunshot War at such a young age, and the same aged NHS was sent to safety in Cloud Recesses by NMJ.
JGY - low cultivation, without any noble schooling - hid LXC whom the Wens were hunting, rose to high positions in both NMJ's and WRH's court, managed to supply accurate and timely information to LXC during Sunshot War - and later became JGS' main support. After this time, he regularly travelled some 320 kms to play for NMJ (he resisted when JGS forced him to kill NMJ, only after NMJ insulted his mother and kicked him off Koi Tower steps did he adulterate Clarity with Turmoil).
Barely older, he bankrolled re-building of CR and made plans to build observation decks for benefit of commoners. Few years later he rose as Chief Cultivator, giving citizens and cultivation world a decade of peace and prosperity.
